The longtime registrar and secretary of the Austrian Arabian Horse Society (VVÖ), Baroness Ilse von Heske-Bothenwald, fell victim to a terrible crime on Thursday, 29th December. Her neighbour found her shot dead on the premises. Later, the police found her son as well, who had hung himself.
Ilse von Heske-Bothenwald was an institution, she managed the business of the VVÖ always correct and very professional, but never pushed herself to the fore. She leaves a huge gap that will be very difficult to fill.
