The Polish Magazine “Araby” just reported that Marek Trela has packed his suitcases to go to Abu Dhabi to work for Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan as manager of his W’rsan Stables.
It’s almost exactly one year ago, that Marek Trela, together with Anna Stojanowska and Jerzy Bialobok, have been dismissed as stud directors of Janow Podlaski and Michalow, or horse breeding specialist at the ANR, respectively, with immediate effect.
‘Good thing to have time’, Marek Trela is now off to embrace a new challenge: “There is a lot of work, because not only do we have over 550 horses at W’rsan Stables, including two training stables, stables for sport and show horses, and more foals born than in Janow Podlaski. This is a new challenge, and I’ll try to help the owner of these breeding and sports horses.” And he added, “If I’m not needed in Poland, I think that I had no choice but to go where they want me.”
H.H. Sheikh Sultan is well-known as the initiator and promoter of both, the HARC and Bouthieb initiatives. HARC is about preserving the old, traditional bloodlines of Arabian racing horses, the Bouthieb initiative is about the welfare of the endurance horses, by introducing rules that award the fittest, not the fastest horse in an endurance ride.
