Born in 1987 at Janow Podlaski, Pilot (out of Pipi) was one of the few Fawor-sons who was used on a considerable scale in breeding. He was sold as a youngster to Millfield Stables in USA, where he left some offspring before he was sold to the UK. Here, he sired some foals for his owner Shirley Watts of Halsdon Arabians, among them HS Pipistrella and HS Pirandelo. Especially the black stallion HS Pirandelo, now owned by Lutetia Arabians in France, has made a very positive impression as a show jumper, and won the European Champion title in Show Jumping at Stadl Paura in 2009. He was also successful at the jumping competition in Aachen 2011 and can be regarded as one of the most talented show jumpers among today’s Arabian horses.
Pilot was then leased by Halsdon back to his place of origin, Janow Podlaski, for the foal crops 2001-2002 and 2011-2012. This resulted in about 40 foals, among them Pedagog, who inherited his dark bay colour, but surprised his breeder with one blue eye. Also Pedagog (out of Petla, the dam of Pogrom) was used as sire at Janow Podlaski for the 2015 foal crop.
After his return, Pilot led a quiet life at Halsdon and died peacefully on 23rd August, at the age of 29.
