About\n40 horses and their owners followed the invitation for the show, which was held\nin the sports club Zorabia, outside of Sibiu\n(Hermannstad).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Romania, purebred\nArabians are relatively rare and therefore many spectators came to experience\nthese horses &#8220;live&#8221;. Most of the horses shown were imported from\nabroad or bred from imported horses (65%), so that you could also find the\nblood of QR Marc and Ajman Moniscione, for example, in addition to numerous\nPolish lines. In many cases, imported stallions were also used on the local\nMangalia mares (25%), but rarely were horses shown that were bred directly in\nMangalia (10%). Mangalia is the Romanian State Stud on the Black\n Sea, where purebred Arabians have been bred since the 1920s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"410\" src=\"https:\/\/in-the-focus.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Hamad-B-IMG_8401-600px-600x410.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14638\" srcset=\"https:\/\/in-the-focus.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Hamad-B-IMG_8401-600px.jpg 600w, https:\/\/in-the-focus.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Hamad-B-IMG_8401-600px-150x103.jpg 150w, https:\/\/in-the-focus.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Hamad-B-IMG_8401-600px-300x205.jpg 300w, https:\/\/in-the-focus.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Hamad-B-IMG_8401-600px-585x400.jpg 585w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Champion\nstallion was the El Nabila son Hamad B, bred in B\u00e1bolna and imported to Romania (a.d.\n227 Hafiza B) * 2003. He was specially imported for the breeding of the Szekler\nhorses, an old horse breed in the part of Romania, where many Hungarian-rooted\npeople live, who want to revive the breed. The champion mare was the Al Maraam\ndaughter Nasira from the stud farm Zorabia, imported from Poland. Both\njunior championships went to two chestnuts bred by Christian Molnar, of which\nat least the junior champion goes back to a mare from Mangalia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although Romania is not yet an ECAHO member, the event was already held as a &#8220;test run&#8221; under ECAHO rules and was judged by an international panel of judges consisting of Deirdre Hyde, Nelly Philippot and Dr. Thomas Stohler.<br><em>Gudrun Waiditschka<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For the second time, Zorabia Sports Club, together with the Arabian Horse Breeders Association of Romania, held a show for Arabian horses at the end of June.
