Last weekend, the European Championships f\u00fcr Sports Arabians took place in Janow Podlaski, for which 73 horses were entered. Ten nations participated, among them Austria, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, Poland and for the first time ever Bielarus, UAE and Saudi Arabia.
\nEight Gold Medals were awarded, they went to: Zonyx (by Enzo) under Signe Kirk Kristiansen from Denmark, who got a fantastic 70,132% in the Prix St. Georges. In Classic Pleasure, the same rider, this time with Bell Sihr (by WH Justice) achieved Gold. Both horses demonstrate that horses with showhorse pedigree can do well as a sports horse. In show jumping the Poles were almost among themselves, in the end it was Estra (by Addham) under Agata Madrak who took the lead. Donuta Kononchuk with Ekier (by Metropolis NA) won the Ladies Sidesaddle competition and Al Khattar W’rsan (by Monarch AH) under Line Moen, who came all the way from the UAE, won the Native Costume Class.
\nIn the Western competitions, it was Swedish Caroline Schwieler with SA Bozall (by Ganges) who got Gold in Western Pleasure. Unfortunately, these classes were not as strong as usual, so it was only nine starters in Trail, best of which was Pajan (by BR Black Flag) with Sonja Dries\/AT. The Kings Discipline, Reining, was won by Gerhard Hairas with GH Shanna (by Baikal) from Austria.
