The race was sponsored with 20.000 € by Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the initiator of HARC. Winner “from start to finish” of this race with a length of 2100 m was Pamills Lips (Top Flyte / Pamill) from Sweden. By three quarter of a length, Sakmagon (Maklaud / Stepen) from the Russian stud Tersk was second. These two horses were ahead of the field by 13 lengths, and it was Taly Sneg (Gangut / Trata) who came in third. With only a head length beaten was Milolika Tersk (Kai / Marlen) as fourth; she was the third starter from Russia. With three horses placed second, third and fourth, the “Nations Cup” went to Russia. The “Nations Cup” is an award for the country with the most successful three starters.
Nils Rosenkjer, the Scandinavian handicapper, regards Pamills Lips as one of the best fillies on the Nordic race tracks, even though the distance in Belgium was not the most favourable for her. She was bred by Ingrid Kindh and comes from proven racing bloodlines through her granddam Djamiljah, who – with Lill Sham (*1993 by Pamir) – is the dam of the best race horse of his time; Lill Sham and Pamills Lips dam are full siblings.

The second placed Sakmagon at home in Tersk.

All the hopes of Tersk stud were lying on second placed Sakmagon. As common in Russia, he raced already at the age of 2 years, had nine race to his record with three times second, and twice third. His trainer Dimitri Avramenko felt, that the distance was not long enough for him; with 100 meters more, he would have won. Apart from that he won the “Athletic Cup”, a regional ECAHO D show in competition with other HARC horses.
Talyi Sneg from Samovolov Stad, situation like Tersk in the South of Russia, had eight races to his record, with four times third as his best results.
Milolika had won the two HARC Races in Russia in 2015 and 2016, but maybe she still suffered from the trip, which took these horses one week from Russia to Belgium by truck. She was Junior Champion at the above mentioned “Athletic Cup”.
Although the HARC movement is still very young, organiser Nelly Philippot took the initiative to organise an European Championships – and the entries proved her right: 12 horses were entered, 11 raced. The Nations Cup was given to the nation, whose best three horses were trained in that country, that’s why Belgium and Russia had three starters each, Sweden even five! The award went to Russia and with it to trainer Dimitri Avramenko, who trained all three horses.

On 31st October, the first ever HARC European Championship took place in Mons / Ghlin (Belgium), where the best race horses without Manganate or Amer blood, etc., met, according to the rules of the Heritage Arabian Racing Club (HARC).
