Over the Rainbowbridge – Mosila

Recently, the Elite mare Mosila died, aged 27. She was the dam of two stallions awarded with a gold medal and premium at the stallion stock show of the VZAP: Amurath Muntahi and Mosri Al Dahab.
Amurath Muntahi’s sire is Amurath Baikal, who lived in Canada. Breeder Ilse Klauenberg was convinced that he is the ideal “husband” for her Mosila, due to the blood of Sanacht (Hadban Enzahi / Hathor), a multiple champion mare in US, and Bask, a grandson of Amurath Sahib. But at that time, there was no frozen semen availalbe of Baikal, and so they arranged for fresh semen to be flown in. To get the timing right, was quite an enterprise! And Ilse Klauenberg succeeded not just once, but twice, resulting in Am. Muntahi and Am. Mosilyah, the latter succeeding her dam in the barn.
