The dam of the stallion Ekstern, the mare Ernestyna (Piechur / Erwina) * 1989 died on April 6th in her home stud Michalow / Poland.
Even if her breeding performance in terms of numbers is rather low – she had only five foals – she has an entry in the history books with her first foal, the stallion Ekstern (by Monogramm) *1994. Ekstern is considered one of the best Monogramm sons.
Ernestyna belonged to the most valuable line in Michalow, the E line, founded by Estokada (Amurath Sahib / Saga) *1951. Her daughter Estebna (by Nabor) was the first European champion in 1973 in Verden. Estebna is Ernestyna’s great-great-grandmother, whose son Ekstern again became European Champion in 2000. Ekstern is one of the most sought after Polish stallions with over 500 offspring.
