Nobby 1995 – 2021

Small in terms of withers height, but big in terms of sports! This is how you could describe Nobby (HT Prophecy / Nocturne) * 1995. And, yes, for me he was the greatest endurance horse of the 21st century (so far)! In 2008 he won the gold medal (individual) at the World Championships in Malaysia, in 2009 at the European Championships in Assisi / Italy, and in 2010 at the World Equestrian Games in Lexington / USA and his last great success was the gold medal at the European Championships in Florac 2011, where he could maintain his position from start to finish!
In all of these successes he was ridden by Maria Alvarez Ponton, who explained in Florac: “Nobby is actually used to flat rides, so we came to France with a bit of a stomach ache – but this horse is really a champion, and is good at both, in Flatland as well as in the mountains! ”At the same time, Nobby, drawn from purely Russian lines, was rather small at only 1.48 m tall, but his athletic heart was huge! He has enjoyed his retirement since 2012, now he has died at the age of 25.
